The International Day of Happiness (known as Happiness Day) is celebrated throughout the world on the 20th of March.

April 7, 2004 was recognized as an international observance the International Day of Reflection on the 1994 Genocide in Rwanda by the United Nations. Commemorative events were held in several world capitals including Kigali, Rwanda, New York City, Dar-es-Salaam, Tanzania, and Geneva, Switzerland. All member states of the UN were invited to join in one minute of silence in memory of the victims.

UN English Language Day is observed annually on 23 April. The event was established by UN's Department of Public Information in 2010 "to celebrate multilingualism and cultural diversity as well as to promote equal use of all six official languages throughout the Organization.

International Jazz Day is an International Day declared by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization in 2011 "to highlight jazz and its diplomatic role of uniting people in all corners of the globe." It is celebrated annually on April 30.

Labour Day has its origins in the labour union movement, specifically the eight-hour day movement, which advocated eight hours for work, eight hours for recreation, and eight hours for rest.
